Trucking and Our Economy
I recently published another article on helium.com (while you're there -- type mike kennon in the search area for my other articles). This article deals with the very serious issue of companies and individuals that are offering freight out for less than the costs to cover
the operation of a truck and would not even pay minimum wage to the driver. Watch 'Economy: Sectors to Watch' a segment done by Good Morning America where they talk about 'low-balling' as
mentioned in my article.) TheTrucker.com did an interview (read more below) and then asked if they could use this article as well.

Interview with TheTrucker.com
Last Friday I was interviewed for an article which should
come out February 1st, 2009 in TheTrucker.com about my new book 'Memoirs of a Runaway'. The Assistant Editor mentioned she just got done doing a series on prostitution at truck stops and many of the the young women are runaways. She went on to say that they had been working with
law enforcement who informed her that the runaway situation has now reached an 'epidemic proportion'.
A boy was throwing starfish back into the ocean and a man walked up to him and said 'you know it wont
matter if you throw them back cause there will be hundreds more that wash up again tomorrow', and the boy continued
to throw another one and turned to him and said 'it mattered to that one'.
