Been reading some very interesting articles about the industry lately. According to one source, up to 53% of drivers or carriers have been dramatically affected by CSA2010 'The purpose of the CSA 2010 initiative is to develop more effective and efficient methods for FMCSA, together with industry and state partners, to achieve its mission of reducing commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes, fatalities, and injuries. CSA 2010 replaces SafeStat with a new Safety Measurement System (SMS) that measures the previous two years of roadside violations and crash data. With SMS, every inspection counts, not just out-of-service violations, and both driver and carrier safety performance are monitored.' Another source said 175,000 drivers have gone out of business already this year, adding 2% more to the unemployment rate. Like most carriers we are experiencing a driver shortage and record volumes of available freight, even putting some ports and shippers in crisis situations.

We are still trying to sell the house or lot and relocate, but will just have to be patient. For now, we're just happy to be in business, have a job and opportunity.

On vacation this week. Nothing new to report lately. Have had some work, but still very quiet (comparatively).  May get out to promote more trucking biz, the book and just see the country for awhile--if God allows.
